Read me a story

*** Edited because of the Quarantine: For any teacher who may need a picture book read aloud~ look to the right and click on Picture Books. I'm putting all the videos I have made there. I will also post my chapter books there.

I was recently telling my niece Maddy about one of my FAVORITE books to read aloud~ Roald Dahl's "The Witches!" It's a book that I love to read to my students (as I am of course wearing my gloves).  I treasure the time I have to read to my children and my students and decided that it was high time I read to my niece and nephew! So each night I would read a few chapters, upload them onto YouTube and send them to my niece. She would write me things like, "OH MY GOSH!" and "I NEED MORE!" When the book was over and the final chapter was read she sent me a letter in the mail thanking me. The thing is, I enjoyed sharing one of my favorite books with her as much as she enjoyed listening to it.
And so, while I have spent years sharing my favorite books with my students and of course my own children, I have decided to create a blog where I continue to share those books for anyone who may be interested. Who knows, perhaps even my grandchildren and great-grandchildren can one day listen as I read aloud to them.
To use this blog, if you are on the computer, you will find available book titles on the right hand side. If you are on your phone, you can click on the arrow under "Mrs. Doran Reads a Story" to see what titles are available. Click on the title of a book for a little synopsis, a link to where you can purchase the book on Amazon and links where chapter by chapter you can follow along.
I also have added a page for "Picture Books" where you can find a list of books I read to my students during the quarantine of 2020.

Enjoy~
